Studies show that giving makes you feel happy. It’s also good for your health. It promotes cooperation and social connection. It evokes gratitude. And it’s contagious! This holiday season, you could be the recipient of these positive benefits by giving hope to an individual or family in need through Desert Schools’ “Santa’s Bundle” giving program.
Launched in celebration of December 2nd “#GivingTuesday”—a global day dedicated to celebrating generosity and giving back—our “Santa’s Bundle” giving program is choosing 10 families in need to receive $1,000 gift cards to help them through the holidays.
Does someone you know struggle to buy food? Pay bills? Purchase holiday gifts for their kids? Want to help? Simply nominate this individual or family to be a recipient of “Santa’s Bundle” this holiday season following the instructions listed below. Submit your nomination by email to santasbundle@desertschools.org. Email nominations must be received by 11 p.m., December 10, 2014. Don’t be surprised if you receive a big dose of happiness in the process.
- Include the name, address and phone number of the person or family you’re nominating, and how you know them.
- Explain their hardship and why you feel they’re deserving of the prize.
- Limit text to three (3) paragraphs.
- Provide your contact information—name and phone number.
- Provide the name and phone number for a third-party personal reference for the nominee.
- Submissions that do not include all of the information above will be disqualified.
